A guest episode for Into the Smoke. Blaze stands outside a bookstore, carrying his bag of groceries complete with baguette, looking in through the window display. His reflection gazes out at the audience, surrounded by and overlapping with the reflections of several ghosts, including Alastor, a man in a baseball uniform, a man in an old timey suit and hat, a woman with long hair, a necklace, and a bowed head, and an old white-haired woman. Also visible in the reflection is a row of Chicago-style two-flat houses across the street. Inside the bookstore are several shelves full of ghost stories and spooky books. Book covers include ghosts, black cats, haunted houses, and more. The store’s logo is partially obscured, with a blocked letter, the letter “n”, a gap, the letters d-g-e-d, and presumably the word “bookstore.”
At last, here’s our remaining guest episode for this hiatus! And omg, I’m just blown away. It’s gorgeous on every level, but even more so if you know Chicago and recognize the inspiration behind this!
And again, this is one of those pieces where, the longer you look, the more amazing details you pick up. I’m very tempted to go through and list every fun little thing I’ve noticed, but I don’t want to ruin the fun of y’all making those discoveries. (Do it in the comments, though! 😀 I want to see if there’s anything I’m missing!)
