Into the Smoke has LAUNCHED!

In a dark, smoky room, a pair of hands belonging to an elderly robed woman hold out an ornate beaded crown of vines, flowers, and leaves. Below the crown is the bowed head of a teenaged redhead, his eyes closed and his chin-length hair pulled back in a messy bun.

The elderly woman says, “It’s time for your initiation, Blaze.”

The comic is live!

Into the Smoke, my very gay webcomic about a medium who binds himself to an evil spirit, has launched with episodes 1 and 2, the equivalent of about 12 comic pages!

From here, we’ll have a new episode every other Wednesday until all 12 episodes of chapter 1 have been posted. Don’t forget, you can subscribe to the ITS newsletter to get notified by email whenever a new episode posts.

A graphic announcing "Making of a Webcomic" for the Nib and Ink Fest 2025 on May 17th, 2025 at 4:00 PM EST on Zoom featuring panelists Kody Okamoto, Lacey Brannen, Bob, and Nero Villagallos O'Reilly. The panel description reads, "Join 4 webcomic artists as they chat about the different ways they approach crafting their webcomics. Each artist will share snippets from their process at varying stages: from script and thumbnails to pencils and inks and finally to the finished product that is shared online. This casual panel is perfect for anyone interested in starting their own webcomic or for any creative who wants to see the what the process other cartoonists are working with!" An anthropomorphic inkwell and an anthropomorphic both holding comic pages decorate the graphic.
