Big Announcements

A promotional image for Into the Smoke's one-year anniversary. On the left side is a preview of a sketch of main characters Blaze, Judd, and Alastor, accompanied by the text, "Thank you for 1 year!" On the right are instructions that read:
Make your mark on Into the Smoke’s anniversary mural! Write, draw, or type whatever you want to celebrate Into the Smoke’s anniversary!
Leave a message for an ITS character.
Leave a message for me.
Leave a message from your OC.
Draw an ITS character.
Paste in a meme.
Write a haiku mercilessly roasting an ITS character.
The possibilities are endless!
Add it yourself at: https://magma.com/d/YheYmjWsrA
Or send it to me and I’ll add it: bob@bob-artist.com or DM me

Into the Smoke is now 1 year old! Join the celebration by adding something to the anniversary mural! You can either add it directly to the canvas with a free Magma account (desktop computer or tablet recommended), or email me the image or text you want included.

The canvas will be open for a few more weeks, and I’d love to see it filled up! You can be as casual or as fancy as you want to be.

Draw, type, or write your message on Into the Smoke’s anniversary mural here!

(or send it to me at bob @ bob-artist.com)

Banner with the text Into the Smoke. The image shows Blaze using a lighter to summon Alastor, a dark, smoky ghost, who holds the medium while inhaling his breath.

Into the Smoke

Into the Smoke is my new free vertical-scroll webcomic. It updates every other Wednesday. “When gay medium Blaze binds himself to an evil spirit, he hopes solving the ghost’s murder will help bring him peace. But Alastor the Angel Killer has other plans…”

New Episodes This Month:

Oh hey, the Webtoon mirror’s been blowing up lately, and we just hit 3000+ subscribers! If you’re a Webtoon user, be sure to subscribe!

Some back story: Into the Smoke was badly ratings-bombed on Webtoon across one day the first time it was featured. This happens sometimes on the platform when one comic’s fans get competitive toward other comics being featured at the same time, and it hurts the targeted comic in the algorithm. It looks like ITS is finally climbing out of it after enough actual readers giving it 10-star ratings, and I really appreciate that! If you can subscribe and give ITS a ten-star rating, it really helps! ❤️

Extras:

1. Into the Smoke’s extended, R-rated chapter 1 PDF is now up on itch.io! You can buy it here!

Cropped cover art for the webcomic Into the Smoke. An androgynous young man with shoulder-length red hair and tattooed hands appears below a dark, smoky ghost, who caresses the man while inhaling his breath. Swirls and patterns surround them. Text reads: Into the Smoke. Chapter 1: The Medium. Bob Appavu. A circular badge reads, "Extended edition."
  • 100% off coupon for Secret Gallery patrons (Patreon)
  • 70% off coupon for all other patrons (Patreon)
  • Did you buy the teen-rated version at Nib & Ink Fest? Email me at bob @ bob-artist.com and I’ll send you the 70% off coupon for the R-rated version! (Don’t hit reply to this email; I won’t see it!)

2. A collection of some of my favorite Into the Smoke sketches is up as a free bonus episode on Tapas! You can check it out here.

3. For May’s Secret Gallery post, I did some concept art of Blaze’s old, neglected car, along with a little sketch and some background info on his driving (or rather, non-driving) habits. Here it is! (Patreon)

4. I added a few more old Top Webcomics voting incentives to Patreon! (Patreon)

5. You can also see the ridiculous event that reminded me I needed to upload those incentives here on Bluesky!

6. And on that subject, we have a new Top Webcomics voting incentive! Vote for ITS and see a 2022 concept sketch of the Blaze/Alastor tea scene from the most recent ITS episode!

Banner for Demon of the Underground: Webcomic. The four main characters of the comic are shown in the midst of battle: Jordana, Merritt, Samsid, and Pogo.

Demon of the Underground

Demon of the Underground is my longest-running webcomic. It’s about Pogo, a half-demon with telekinetic powers who falls into a treacherous underground world beneath Chicago. The first 300+ pages can be read for free at demonoftheunderground.com. Current pages are being released on Patreon, with plans for new free pages in the future.

In case you missed it, Demon of the Underground is updating again with free public pages on Tapas! (nsfw warning for the most recent scene – it’s slightly censored on Tapas, but you can find this scene uncensored/R-rated on Patreon)

Patreon Extras:

1. While I was trying to come up with ideas for Into the Smoke’s 1-year anniversary, I came across the old illustration I did for DOTU’s first anniversary in 2012, and I decided to redraw it for the Bonus Tier on Patreon! (nsfw)(Patreon)

2. Secret Gallery patrons can see both the new illustration and the ancient 2012 version! (Patreon)

Print Shop!

A screenshot of an Inprnt storefront with the header, "Art Prints by Bob Appavu." Four images are shown, titled Pigeon Fire Pit, Canada Griffin, Bittern at the Grocery Store, and The Honk King. Prices are $15, crossed out and replaced with $12.75, listed as 15% off.

You can now buy prints of some of my most requested animal art and minicomics in my brand-new Inprnt shop!

  • Is there a piece you want to buy that isn’t in the shop? Send me a request at bob @ bob-artist.com!
