Welcome to the first ever Monthly Roundup!
In this newsletter, you’ll find out about everything I released over the past 30-31 days, whether it be standalone art, comic pages, standalone minicomics, Patreon bonuses, project launches, or anything else notable. This way you get it all without having to follow me in a thousand different places—though you’re still welcome to do that too!
Anything not labeled “Patreon” or “paid” is free and publicly available.
Major Announcements and Releases
This was an unusually big month! Lots more releases than usual, and several notable ones.
Into the Smoke: Cover Reveal and Launch Date
I posted the cover for Into the Smoke, the new free webcomic I’ve been working on behind the scenes for the past two years! I also announced the release date: May 29! The release was announced on Patreon (free post) and Tumblr.
Into the Smoke: Website Launch
The Into the Smoke website went live at intothesmokecomic.com! It includes information about the comic and a big preview episode you can read right away. You can also sign up for the ITS Newsletter to get episode updates and the Monthly Roundup by email—if that’s not where you’re getting this one right now!
Into the Smoke: Credits (Patreon)
Patrons had a chance to sign their name on the credits list that’ll appear with ITS episodes 1-6. I can’t wait to share it! There’ll be another opportunity to add names when we get close to releasing episodes 7-12.
Demon of the Underground
Demon of the Underground is my longest-running webcomic. The first 300+ pages can be read for free at demonoftheunderground.com. Current pages are being released on Patreon, with tentative plans for new free pages in the future.
DOTU: Chapter 5 Pages (Patreon)
- Chapter 5, page 31 went out to $5+ patrons, who get each individual page as it’s released.
- And since the scene is now complete, all patrons got the scene compilation of chapter 5, pages 27-31 on the same day. The next scene is expected to start in April.
Patreon Rewards (Patreon)
For March’s Patreon Secret Gallery post ($10 and up), we learned about DOTU and ITS demonology. How do angels and demons work in the underground universe? What powers do they have? And what does this mean for half-angels and half-demons?
For the monthly character interviews ($5 patrons and up), Annie talked about the best people to scrounge food from—her longest and most detailed answer yet!—and Pogo talked about motorcycle tricks, which is definitely not his specialty.
For all patrons, we had our quarterly sketches this month! Seventeen sketches were posted (1-6, 7-12, 13-17), including DOTU characters in historical fashion, some Merritt’s Story sketches, some ITS sketches, and a lone Canada Griffin sketch (more on that in a bit).
Cooking with Belmont
Cooking with Belmont is a future AU DOTU spin-off visual novel. It’s completed, and you can download it for free from itch.io!
For the past few months, we’ve been doing a group play-through on Patreon, where patrons get to vote on the choices in the game.
CWB Patron Play-through (Patreon)
We had our 10th play-through video, and our latest choice got the most votes out of any past choices! With our final choice in the bag, f*** around time is now officially over. From here on, it’s time to find out…
Minicomics
It’s been a crazy month on tumblr. After laying low for a few years working behind the scenes on ITS, I started being more active with public art posts. I posted three birdy minicomics, and all three kinda blew up.
My tumblr is public, and you shouldn’t need an account to read any of these posts.
Odds and Ends
Just a few random quickie sketches on tumblr!
