A little later than usual since I just came back from out of town, but I still have lots of stuff for you!
Announcements

I’m participating in the Queer Games Bundle for the first time this year! You can find Cooking with Belmont as part of this absolutely massive bundle: over 600 games! You can pick it up for $60, and there’s also a pay-what-you-can version for $10+. Grab the bundle here!
Planet Honk
Do you like my minicomics and random art? You can now support them on their own Patreon! I started this Patreon to give people a tip option for my all-ages minicomics and humor art, since my main Patreon is 18+. It mostly serves as a tip jar. If you like all of my work, I recommend pledging to bob_artist (I pay less in fees here, and you get lots more exclusive content!), but if you need an all-ages option, pledge to Planet Honk!

Into the Smoke
Into the Smoke is my new free vertical-scroll webcomic. It updates every other Wednesday. “When gay medium Blaze binds himself to an evil spirit, he hopes solving the ghost’s murder will help bring him peace. But Alastor the Angel Killer has other plans…”
New Episodes This Month:
- Read Chapter 2, Episode 13 at intothesmokecomic.com
- Read Chapter 2, Episode 14 at intothesmokecomic.com
- Read Chapter 2, Episode 15 at intothesmokecomic.com
- MIRROR SITES: Subscribe and Read on Webtoon and Tapas (censored to PG-13)
There‘s only ONE EPISODE LEFT before Into the Smoke’s next hiatus! (And it’s a big giant honker of an episode.) But hiatus doesn’t mean nothing’s happening. Keep an eye out for some awesome guest episodes and other bonuses!
Extras:
1. For July’s Secret Gallery post, we got another big Notorious Ghost update! See Blaze’s alternate outfit sprites, Judd, Evie, and the supporting/romanceable characters for one of the routes. Plus some GUI layouts!
2. For August’s Bonus Tier update, I shared a bunch of sketches I did on vacation! Most of them are just everyday life stuff, but I did sneak one Judd portrait in there…
3. We have a new Top Webcomics voting incentive! Vote for ITS and see a preview WIP of Old Evie’s Notorious Ghost sprite!
Vote for Into the Smoke on TopWebcomics!

Demon of the Underground
Demon of the Underground is my longest-running webcomic. It’s about Pogo, a half-demon with telekinetic powers who falls into a treacherous underground world beneath Chicago. The first 300+ pages can be read for free at demonoftheunderground.com. Current pages are being released on Patreon, with plans for new free pages in the future.
Demon of the Underground is updating with free public pages on Tapas! We’re up to chapter 4, page 65!
New Art!

The Chicagoans in your life feel very strongly about this.

Odds and Ends
Initiatives

You may have heard that Steam and itch.io recently delisted many games and comics for adult audiences, due to demands made by credit card companies and payment processors. Credit card companies don’t allow certain businesses or types of creative work to use their services, and this has resulted in massive amounts of censorship and onerous content restrictions on many platforms creators rely on. For me, that includes Patreon and itch.io, and I’ve had to censor my own work and tiptoe around restrictions to make sure I stay in compliance. A lot of my cartoonist friends have also been impacted by these rules, many having their works delisted on itch.io.
It shouldn’t be up to Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, or Stripe to decide what art can and can’t be sold, especially in an era where most purchases are made digitally. Their restrictions are the reason art and comic platforms are becoming so hostile to creators and readers of media for adult audiences.
The Cartoonist Cooperative is part of a widespread initiative to make it clear to these payment processors that their censorship is unacceptable.
Check out the Cartoonist Cooperative’s statement on the issue here, along with our calls to action and lists of resources. There’s a ton of stuff you can do to help! A few phone calls go a long way.
And that’s everything from this past month! See ya next time!
